The Kadoorie Charitable Foundation Hong kong team visited YPSA’s “Promoting Safe Water and Sanitation at East Bakalia in Chittagong” project from October 12-14. Ms. Stephanie YM Cheung, Program Manager, South & South East Asia of The Kadoorie Charitable Foundation (KCF) had a meeting with YPSA Senior management team on 12 October 2017 at YPSA Head office. Md. Arifur Rahman, Chief Executive and other senior officials of YPSA were present there and the progress of the project implementation were shared in the meeting.
Ms. Stephanie has visited the project office and the intervention area at Takterpool slum of 18 no ward East Bakalia. She has visited the selected locations where the new installation and repair of safe water point, sanitary latrines, bathing points and drainage system will be constructed. She had observed awareness raising session, cleanliness day and hygiene demonstration session at community. She had an interactive discussion with the community people and also with the management committee members of the selected locations.
She said that she is very hopeful for that the community participation and commitment shows very positive and YPSA staffs are also very committed to work with and for the community. During her visit YPSA Director Mr. Md. Mahabubur Rahman and team leader Ms. Nasim Banu Shyamali accompanied along with her. The visit ended with an exit meeting with the senior management team members of YPSA.
