To increase use rate of injectable, LARC and PM services in the project implementation area.

Project Goal: 

To increase use rate of injectable, LARC and PM services in the project implementation area.

Objective of the project (Purpose of the project):

To establish an effective referral mechanism for injectable and LARC services by linking garment factories with public and private facilities in Chittagong metropolitan areas to increase use rate of injectable and LARC methods in the project implementation areas.

Duration of project:

Duration of the project will be 24 months and project will commence from November 2014 and will end in 30th September 2016.

  1. Strategies for Workplace Intervention. Demand generation for Injectable and LARC and PM services among garments workers:

Key Activities

  1. i) Project briefing meeting with BGMEA:
  1. Project orientation meeting with BGMEA
  1. ii) Selection of Garment Factories:
  1. Identify 15 big Garments factories in the project location
  2. Meeting with selected garments factories
  3. Signing Letter of Consent with Factory Authority

iii) Sensitization/advocacy with factory owners and senior Management staff:

  1. Sensitization meeting with factory owners and senior management
  2. One to one meeting with factory owners and senior management
  1. b) Development of and demand generation by Master Trainers and Peer Educators
  1. i) Selection and Training of Master Trainers:
  2. Selection of Master Trainers
  3. Provide training on injectable, LARC and PM services to Master Trainer
  4. Provide refreshers training to Master Trainer
  5. Follow up of the Peer educators activities by MT
  1. c) Demand creation by Master Trainers:
  1. i) Selection of Peer Educator
  2. Select Peer Educators from Garments factories
  3. Provide training on injectable, LARC and PM to Peer Educators
  4. Provide refresher training to Peer Educators
  1. d) Demand creation by Peer Educator:
  1. Demand creation among the family members of garments factories
  2. Special FP services day for Garments workers
  1. Strategies to Engage Private Health facilities to Provide Injectable and LARC services
  1. a) Selection of health service Facilities
  1. Selection of 10 Private Health Service Providers
  2. Signing letter of Consent with Private Health Service Providers
  3. Capacity development of Health Service Providers
  4. Orientation  with medical staff of selected private service providers
  5. Demand creation for people living around the selected private health facilities and garments factories
  6. Follow up of IUD Clients

 

  1. b) Demand creation through using community Radio
  1. Develop and collect materials or messages for airing the messages through Community Radio

  1. c) Referral Linkage
