Introduction:

Active Citizens Youth Leadership Training aims to bring about sustainable social change within communities by establishing a global network of leaders. Purpose is to increase the contribution of community leaders towards achieving sustainable development both locally and globally.  So ACYLT work with people who have already demonstrated local social responsibility, including youth workers, women’s groups, educators and faith leaders. We offer these participants training to develop their leadership skills and provide them the chance to gain a global perspective on social development.

Active Citizens in Bangladesh gives participants the confidence to make a difference in their communities.

The programme enhances leadership and project-management skills of local influencers. They receive specialist guidance in designing and running social action projects, which aim to generate positive change within their community. Participants also benefit from peer support via connections made within the global Active Citizens network.

Summary of the Program:

The youth community makes up half of the world’s population. Around one third of the population of Bangladesh, namely 47.6 million people is youth. Youth are the confident and creative force in a society. They have passion and vision. Proper guidance and direction can bring them in the forefront of national development. Idea of national development is just myth without active and meaningful participation of youth. Since 1985, YPSA is committed towards leadership development and empowerment of youth. YPSA believes that Youth needs proper guidance and motivation so that they can guide themselves now and the nations in the future. YPSA has directly contributing twelve goals of SDG entire seventeen goals. YPSA believes that the countries are to succeed in achieving the SDGs, leaving no one behind along the way, public and private must seek out an active substantive engagement of young women and men from diverse background in national level planning, implementation and monitoring. The overall success of the SDGs depends on youth engagement. In that context, YPSA became partner of Active Citizen Program. YPSAmake solidarity that Youth should globally Connected Locally Engaged. YPSA made interested on contributing in SDG goals 13 (climate actions) and 16 (Peace and Justice Strong Institutions) by Active Citizen Programme. YPSA is now executing the programme on Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar which is Southeastern part of Bangladesh and geographically more vulnerable due to climate change and Violent and Extremism. YPSA believes that by the implementation of this programme the young generation will be responsive on climate change and safeguard on against of rights violation.
