Community Volunteer (EMAP)
YPSA has been implementing a project titled “Multi sector recovery and empowerment support for crises affected communities in Cox’s Bazar Activity” since 2020. The project is technical supported by International Rescue Committee (IRC) and funded by USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA).
Job Title: Community Volunteer (EMAP)
Reportable to: Project Officer (GBV)
Current Project Agreement Period: September 2024 to June 2027
Contract Duration: Up to August 2025 (Possibility to Extend)

Position Overview: Young Power in Social Action will engage community volunteers for EMAP sessions, where community members will be selected as volunteers to support community volunteers for community outreach on EMAP plus. This role involves building strong relationships, raising awareness, and facilitating community empowerment through effective communication and collaboration.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct door-to-door visits, community meetings, and awareness sessions to introduce the project and its relevant benefits of the activities to community members.
- Identified the challenges and a way out to overcome strategy at community level
- Made baseline and end line survey, group formation, tanning/sessions facilitation at field level.
- Collect data from the field and report to the supervisor and time to time report preparation and submission to your supervisors.
- Conducted, Prepared and helped plan and organize activities at community level with men, women, boys’ and girls’ groups.
- Building relationships with the local community, community allies, including village leaders, community groups and individuals to identify their concerns related to EMAP.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of community volunteer efforts and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Any other task assigned by the Management/Project Officer/ Supervisor
Specific responsibilities:
- Create a monitoring checklist before specific session plans and supporting materials for numeracy, literacy and life skills.
- Facilitate daily sessions as per standards for numeracy, literacy and life skills
- Maintain schedule for activities and up to date with work plan
- Organize and facilitate community volunteer activities (i.e. parent meetings, home visits)
- Ensures 100% participants attendance & Keep record, preservation on sessions and Learning materials
- Frequently field visits and follow up with beneficiaries.
- Ensure a joyful learning environment in the sessions.
- Ensure gender equity and strictly follow up child safeguarding policy.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Above.
- 1 years of experience as a community volunteer.
Competencies
- Knowledge of verbal and written Chittagonian is mandatory
- Knowledge of participatory approaches and community-based development principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent facilitation and training skill and Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build trust and rapport with community members.

Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Monthly Consolidated Stipend: 12, 000 BDT
(The stipend of each volunteer is based on approved guidelines of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, ISCG and RRRC as monthly basis (Framework for Skill Development & Engagement of Volunteers-Host and FDMN).
