YPSA has been implementing a project titled “Multi sector recovery and empowerment support for crises affected communities in Cox’s Bazar Activity” since 2020. The project is technical supported by International Rescue Committee (IRC) and funded by USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA)
Job Title: Girl Shine Mentor
Reportable to: Project Officer (GBV)
Current Project Agreement Period: September 2024 to June 2027
Contract Duration: Up to August 2025 (Possibility to Extend)

Position Overview: Girl Shine Mentors will be recruited from the local community as volunteer, preferably older adolescent girls or young women, fostering safety networks and ensuring sustainability while providing ongoing solidarity and mentorship, overseen by YPSA staff mentors will be selected as per the criteria who will be responsible to deliver the sessions of the adolescent girls and their caregivers with support from YPSA staff.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct door-to-door visits, community meetings, and awareness/outreach sessions to introduce the project and its benefits to community members.
- Collect data from the field and report to the supervisor.
- Explain the objectives of relevant activities in an understandable manner.
- Collaborate with community members to co-design project interventions that are tailored to their needs and preferences.
- Ensure effective communication between project teams and the community to address challenges and opportunities.
- Data Collection and Feedback: Gather feedback from community members to ensure their voices are heard in project decision-making.
- Collect and document success stories, testimonials, and lessons learned from the community.

Educational Qualifications:
Secondary School Certificate (SSC) & Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
Languages:
Proficiency in Bengali. Knowledge of Chittagonian dialects is highly preferred.

Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Monthly Consolidated Stipend: 7,000 BDT
