YPSA is implementing the project titled, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM) project for Food Security & Livelihood and Child protection sectors” at Ukiya & Teknaf Upazila (Host & Camp) in Cox’s Bazar with technical support from Save the Children.

Job Summary:

The Skill Development officer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and evaluating Food Security & Livelihood initiatives for the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM) project for Food Security & Livelihood and Child protection sectors” under YPSA (Young Power in Social Action) at at Ukiya & Teknaf Upazila (Host & Camp) in Cox’s Bazar. This position involves working closely with project stakeholders, youth participants, and community partners to enhance their skills, knowledge, and capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Needs Assessment:

  • Conduct assessments to identify the skills needs and gaps within the target population or community.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand demand of trade, local job market demands and industry requirements.
  • Local market accessibility and market linkage

Skill Training Program Design:

  • Develop and design skill training programs based on identified needs and in alignment with industry standards.
  • Create curriculum, training materials, module and session guide and assessment tools for effective skill development.
  • To lead module capacity strengthening of staff both technical and program.

Training Delivery:

  • Facilitate skill development training sessions, workshops, and practical exercises for staff and participants.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and support to ensure participants acquire and master the necessary skills.

Capacity Building:

  • Implement capacity-building initiatives for trainers and facilitators to enhance the quality and effectiveness of training programs.
  • Work with educational institutions, vocational training canter’s, and industry experts to stay updated on best practices.
  • Capacity building for staff and participants for value chain

Career Counseling:

  • Provide career counselling and guidance to participants, helping them understand potential career paths and opportunities.
  • Assist in developing individualized career plans based on acquired skills.

Employability Skills:

  • Integrate soft skills development into training programs, including communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving.
  • Enhance participants’ employability by fostering a holistic approach to skill development.

Industry Partnerships:

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with industries, businesses, and employers to create opportunities for internships, apprenticeships, and job placements.
  • Collaborate with industry stakeholders to ensure that training programs meet industry standards.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of skill development programs.
  • Collect and analyze data on participant outcomes and program impact.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant progress, and success stories.
  • Prepare regular reports maintain coordination for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and partners.

Networking:

  • Actively participate in relevant networks, forums, and industry events to stay informed about emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Establish connections with potential employers and organizations to enhance job placement opportunities for trained individuals.

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduation in any discipline and NSDA or BTEB certified level-4 – assessor and trainer. Relevant job experience would be an advantage.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering skill development or vocational training programs.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design.

Skills:

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to tailor training programs to diverse learner needs.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of current trends in the job market and industries.
  • Knowledge of various skill development methodologies and assessment tools.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in using standard office software for curriculum design, data analysis, and reporting.
  • The Skill Development Officer plays a pivotal role in empowering individuals by providing them with the skills necessary for gainful employment and career advancement. The position requires a blend of instructional expertise, industry knowledge, and a commitment to enhancing the employability of participants.

Monthly Consolidated Salary  : Consolidated Salary per month BDT 55,000 /- (Including Fringe Benefit).
