Technical Trainer cum Centre in Charge

YPSA is implementing a project at Ukhiya Upazila under Cox’s Bazar titled “Self-reliance”. The project is supported by the WFP and HelpAge International.

Job Title: Technical Trainer cum Centre in Charge

Job summary:

Implementation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training for persons with disabilities and older people, facilitation of life skills and technical skills sessions, prepare training materials, participants selection following the criteria of Self-Reliance project in the respective camp.

Duration: February 2023 to 31 December 2023 (High possibility subject to fund availability

No. of vacancy: 02 (1 Male and 1 Female)

Major roles and responsibilities:

  • Perform survey, data collection through WGQs, participants selection of TVET training following the criteria of the project.
  • Work under the guidance of Technical Specialist-TVET to implement hands-on-training on the approved training trades.
  • Assist to prepare curricula, module/ IEC materials for TVET and Skills Development training.
  • Organize and facilitate practical session as described by the module and following CBT&A approach.
  • Ensure participants attendance and conduct door to door visit for follow-up.
  • Prepare training materials list and maintain safe use of training equipment.
  • Ensure logistics support during training.
  • Ensure proper and timely delivery of the training contents according to the training module.
  • Maintain stock book, attendance register, approval letter and other documents of project.
  • Facilitate life skills training & production setup and smooth operation of Age Friendly Space.
  • Assist in cash distribution to the training participants.
  • Supervise volunteers and facilitate orientation to them.
  • Assist in coordination and cooperation with the Government and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly work plan and reports, case studies and other relevant documents based on project needs.
  • Any other duties & responsibilities assigned by Project Management Unit.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Preventing harm and abuse from our people, operations, and programmes to anyone that encounters our work.
  • Report all safeguarding incidents they see, hear, hear about, or suspect, using our internal reporting mechanism.
  • Complying with all safeguarding framework policies and practices.
  • Completing mandatory training courses relating to our safeguarding policy framework and comply with HR vetting procedures.
  • Reporting and responding to safeguarding incidents reported to them by anyone connected with our work, using our internal reporting mechanism.
  • Supporting staff and volunteers to embed safeguarding measures in their role.

For Field visit/Movement:

  • Reducing the risk of harm and abuse in the field.
  • Attending specialist field training on safeguarding as required.
  • Maintaining maps of support services for survivors.
  • Receiving and responding to complainants/survivors and ensuring that no further harm is done, following a survivor-cantered approach, using the principles of psychological first aid, and signposting to relevant local services as needed.
  • Reporting all safeguarding incidents, they become aware of. 

Experience:

  • 3 years program management and training facilitation experience (at least 2 years of work experience within the field of skills development training plan, organize, facilitation, assessment)
  • Having working experience with Older People and persons with disabilities will be treated as an added advantage.
  • Specialized experience on TVET training facilitation
  • Experience of working in Cox Bazar Rohingya camp would be beneficial.
  • Minimum fluency on Chattogram Colloquial language
  • Management has the right to make exceptions based on qualifications.

Skills and abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and Sound understanding on disability and age inclusion.
  • Excellent facilitation skills in capacity building training for community people and of relevant project stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with utmost dedication and integrity.
  • Excellent command of communication skills in both Bangla and English and Excellent computer operating skill & conversant with MS Office package.
  • Ability and willingness to travel. Self-motivated, adaptable, team player and passion for skills development works.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelors or Equivalent degree from UGC approved university.
  • Must have CBT&A Level IV and NTVQF/BNQF level certification from BTEB/NSDA.
  • Skills of developing curriculum, manual on different trades
  • Experience or working knowledge of disability and ageing issues facing in humanitarian crisis.
  • Experience of Bamboo Crafting, Mat Making, Handicraft, Gas Burner Repair and Fishing Net Making training facilitation.

Monthly consolidated Salary range in BDT: 44,000 – 48,000

Job location: Rohingya Camps, Ukhiya under Cox’s Bazar District.
