Title of Project/ Programme:  Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment – RAISE.

Duration of Project: Started from 1st September 2022 (Yearly Extension) ongoing.

Goal and Objective of Project:

 Funding and capacity building of small entrepreneurs affected by Covid-19 to restore their business activities

 Financing expansion of enterprises through capacity building of backward micro entrepreneurs

 Providing training and employment support to youth from low-income families through Apprenticeship model.

Project Participants/ Target Population:

  1. Small entrepreneurs affected by covid-19, unemployed youth who dream to be an entrepreneur.
  2. Comparatively backward small entrepreneur and his family
  3. Disadvantaged communities like Dalits, minorities, Chars, Howrs, hilly areas, tea garden and coastal areas and disabled youth and small entrepreneurs.

Activities

  1. Provide Skill development Training on Business and Craftsmanship under a skillful Master Craftsperson.
  2. Provide Life Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Development Training under a skilled Trainer.
  3. ‍Assisting in wage-based and self-employment resources.
  4. Provide loan with easy terms and conditions to start business to selected apprentices.
  5. Arrange Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for selected apprentice.

Five Major Achievements of Project:

  1. Distributed 4 core loan among 400 small entrepreneurs with easy condition
  2. Provided training among 150 youth entrepreneurs on “Business Management and Entrepreneur Development’.
  3. Provided orientation to 50 establish small entrepreneurs on ‘Apprenticeship program management’.
  4. Provided Skill Development Training for 170 apprentices under 50 Master craftsperson for 6 months with three batch.
  5. Provided “Life Skill Development” Training to 170 apprentices.

Lesson Learnt:

  1. If the morale is strong and the goal is fixed, an entrepreneur can recoup losses and bring his business back to profitability.
  2. Unemployed youth can establish themselves financially if they can get scop to develop their skills.
  3. With support, established small entrepreneurs can come forward to solve the problem of unemployment.
