YPSA is implementing a project titled, “Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM) project for Food Security & Livelihood and Child protection sectors” at Ukiya & Teknaf Upazila (Host & Camp) in Cox’s Bazar. YPSA will implement the project with the support from Save the Children (SCI).

Job Summary: The Skill Skill Development officer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and evaluating youth development initiatives for the “Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM) project for Food Security & Livelihood and Child protection sectors” under YPSA (Young Power in Social Action) at at Ukiya & Teknaf Upazila (Host & Camp) in Cox’s Bazar. This position involves working closely with project stakeholders, youth participants, and community partners to enhance their skills, knowledge and capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Needs Assessments:
- Conduct assessments to identify the skills needs and gaps within the target population or community.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand local job market demands and industry requirements.
- Skill Training Program Design:
- Develop and design skill training programs based on identified needs and in alignment with industry standards.
- Create curriculum, training materials, and assessment tools for effective skill development.
- Training Delivery:
- Facilitate skill development training sessions, workshops, and practical exercises for participants.
- Capacity building learner / participants on life skills to roll out that sessions among PRM adolescent & youth group members.
- Regular basis visit adolescent & youth life skill sessions and provide on spot support to the respective FF as well as discuss with PM for further quality improvement.
- Provide hands-on guidance and support to ensure participants acquire and master the necessary skills.
- Capacity Building:
- Implement capacity-building initiatives for trainers and facilitators to enhance the quality and effectiveness of life skill training programs for adolescent & youth development.
- Work with educational institutions, vocational training canters, and industry experts to stay updated on best practices.
- Career Counselling:
- Provide career counselling and guidance to participants, helping them understand potential career paths and opportunities.
- Assist in developing individualized career plans based on acquired skills.
- Employability Skills:
- Integrate soft skills development into training programs, including communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving.
- Enhance participants’ employability by fostering a holistic approach to skill development.
- Industry Partnerships:
- Establish and maintain partnerships with industries, businesses, and employers to create opportunities for internships, apprenticeships, and job placemnt.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders to ensure that training programs meet industry standards.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of skill development programs.
- Collect and analyse data on participant outcomes and program impact.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant progress, and success stories.
- Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and partners.
- Networking:
- Actively participate in relevant networks, forums, and industry events to stay informed about emerging trends and opportunities.
- Establish connections with potential employers and organizations to enhance job placement opportunities for trained individuals.
- Maintain regular and close contact with DWA, UP, DYD, & DAE etc. in order to get technical support to capacity building staff and project participants.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as education, vocational training, human resource development, or a related discipline.
- Experience:
- Previous working experiences on life skill training program designing & facilitation for adolescent development.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering skill development or vocational training programs.
- Skills:
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to tailor training programs to diverse learner needs.
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of current trends in the job market and industries.
- Knowledge of various skill development methodologies and assessment tools
- Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in using standard office software for curriculum design, data analysis, and reporting.
The Skill Development Officer plays a pivotal role in empowering individuals by providing them with the skills necessary for gainful employment and career advancement. The position requires a blend of instructional expertise, industry knowledge, and a commitment to enhancing the employability of participants.
Monthly Consolidated Salary: Consolidated Salary per month BDT 55,000 /- (With Fringe Benefit).
