‘Stop AIDS Keep the promise: Leadership Empower Deliver’ with this slogan the world AIDS day was observed all over the world in 1st December, 2008. With the similarity of the activities of world AIDS day YPSA celebrated this day in own style in 2nd December at Theatre Institute Chittagong (TIC). The aim of this program was to arrange a different type of program for the target people of HIV/AIDS prevention program of Chittagong Division so that they can participate actively in AIDS day program with a pleasure of heart. Executive Director, MT, PE of all strategic partner & associate partner organizations, garments worker, IDUs, street based sex workers were participated in this program. The day long program was divided into three sessions. 1st session was on inaugural and discussion, 2nd session was on the different sports & quiz competition and 3rd session was on the cultural program & prize distribution.
The inaugural and discussion session was chaired by Mrs. Khaleda Begum, Team Leader-GFATM-912 of YPSA Consortium, where Mr. Hossain Jamil, Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong, attended as the chief guest and Director of BGMEA & Managing Director of Clifton group Mr. M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Deputy Director of health Dr. Mahafuzur Rahman Talukder, Civil Surgeon of Chittagong Dr. Md. Jalal Ahmed, adviser of YPSA Consortium Professor Dr. A. Q. M. Serajul Islam attended as special guest.
2nd session was comprises of quiz competition, extempore speech, pillow pass game, song competition with last latter (antashwari). MT, PE of all strategic partner & associate partner organizations and garments worker, IDUs, street based sex workers as target people were participated in this sports & quiz competition.
3rd session was on the cultural program & prize distribution, which covered drama, kobigan, dance, song etc. Mr. Abdul Mannan Rana, Director- BGMEA attended this session as chief guest and distributed prize to the winners. This session also presided over by Mrs. Khaleda Begum, Team Leader-GFATM-912 of YPSA Consortium.
All participants and guests of this day long program enjoyed this day very effectively, which was a remarkable world AIDS day observation with active participation of Govt., civil society, NGOs and target people.
