Meeting on “Rights of Climate Displaced People” held in Laxmipur District.

“Transparency and distribution of Khash land (government owned land) among the landless people without any kind of influence should be ensured. Livelihood and other basic needs and rights have to be ensured in this rehabilitation process for the betterment of the climate displaced people here in Laxmipur.” Speakers said in a advocacy meeting jointly organized by YPSA and Gender & Environment Management Society (GEMS) at Nondon Community Center, Laksmipur on 5th  Decmber’12 with the support of Displacement Solutions.

This event chaired by Professor Mahbub Mohammed Ali (President of SANAK). Professor Khalilur Rahman Chowdhury (Former Principal Laksmipur Gov’t College) was present as chief guest. Here in this event Professor ANM Abdul Mannan (Ex Principal Laksmipur Gov’t College), Shonkor Mozumder (Vice President of Laksmipur Chamber of Commerce), Abul Mobarak (Ex Head Teacher Laksmipur Adorsho high School). Advocate Milon Mondol (Judge Court).Rabeya Azad (Executive Director of Udoyon), Saiful Islam Shopon (District Representative of Daily Jai Jai Din and Masranga TV), Mizanur Rahman(District representative of daily Samokal), Md.Kawser (District representative of ATN and daily Amardesh), Saidul Islam (District representative of Mohona TV and daily Bangladesh Protidin) Kamruzzaman,  (Area Manager-TIB), Dr. Mamumur Rahman also participated during the discussion.

Program officer Mr. Syed Assraf Ullah HLP program gavea  presentation on YPSA and Mr. Subir Das focal person Youth Program YPSA presented the key note on HLP rights in the meeting.
