Bangladesh Forest Department, YPSA and Arannayk Foundation jointly arranged an experience shearing workshop on Climate Resilient Participatory Afforestation and Reforestation Project at Hotel Cox Today Auditorium, Cox’sbazar on September 5, 2016. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Cox’s Bazar Hosen Ali was present as chief gust while Divisional Forest Officer Mohammad Ali presided over the function. Executive Director of ARANNAYK FOUNDATION Farid Uddin Ahmed was the keynote speaker in the workshop.

Among others, Md. Mahabubur Rahman, Director (SDP), YPSA, Mr. Keramot Ali Mollik, DFO, Cox’s Bazar North FD, DD Agriculture, DD Fisheries, DD Livestock, DD Cooperatives, District marketing Officer, Civil Society Representative and Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce President Mr. Abu Morshed Chowdhury, concern Assistant Conservation of Forest, Forest Range Officers, Upazila Agriculture Officer, Upazila Fisheries Officer, Upazila Livestock Officer,Upazila Cooperative Officer, Union Parishad Chairman, Media representatives, like minded NGOs representatives, President of FDGs Union Federation, AF and YPSA staff members participated and shared their experience in the workshop.

YPSA has been implementing a project titled “Climate Resilient Participatory Afforestation and Reforestation Project (CRPARP), Component-2: Alternative Livelihoods to Support Forest Communities (ALSFC)” with the support of ARANNAYK FOUNDATION.

The project is facilitating to mobilize the poor forest dependent households into groups, engaging them in afforestation and reforestation activities, providing them with relevant training, as well as technical and financial support to improve their livelihoods.
