Youth group in Chattogram came forward to cope with the Corona crisis

Aid distribution by youth

As an effect of COVID-19 pandemic, day labourer, transport workers, rickshaw puller, garment workers, hotel and restaurant workers, small businessman and shopkeepers are incurring loss and many people are not getting salary or getting partial salary in Bakalia 19 & 35 no ward of Chattogram City Corporation. As a result, many of the lower middle class and middle class are living a dehumanized life as regular income generation has stopped. To consider this situation, YPSA’s youth volunteers have taken attempt to help marginalized ultra poor community people.  Consequently, with the support of Actionaaid Bangladesh, YPSA Activista Chittagong LRP-48 provided emergency food support and hygiene kit to 92 families in wards 19 and 35 in first phase to cope with the Corona crisis.

YPSA’s volunteers not only ensured their own safety but also maintained social distancing to operate this humanitarian activity successfully.

The event was inaugurated through online by Actionadid A4I Manager Nazmul Ahsan on June 3, 2020. Actionadid A4I Deputy Manager Hatem Ali, Actionaid SO1 Inspirator Musfique Tajware, YPSA Deputy Director Nasim Banu Shyamali, Program Officer Shovan Chowdhury and youth volunteer of YPSA Activista Chittagong LRP-48 have joined the online meeting of inauguration.

YPSA Program Manager Farhana Idris coordinated the entire program.
