Training on Plantation & Management System of Horticultural Plants

Trainer showed planting system of seedlings in the fieldTraining on “Plantation & management system of horticultural plants” was organized by YPSA-RCBDH (Restoration and Conservation of Biodiversity in the Denuded Hills in Sitakund and Mirsharai, Chittagong) supported by Arannyok Foundation (AF) from 22nd to 23rd August and 25th August at Mirsharai Agriculture Extension Office Auditorium, Wahadpur UP, Mirsharai and BariadhalaUjirali Govt. Primary School, Sitakund.

75 project participants from 496 members of 20 Forest User Groups (FUG) participated at the training workshop. The workshop was conducted with technical support from Agriculture Office of Mirsharai & Sitakund Upazilla. Mr. Aiub Ali and Mr.Tarik Mahamudul Alam, Agriculture Officer of Mirsharai & Sitakund, UP Chairman, Members, and School teachers were present at the  opening & closing session.

Mr. Ashim Barua (Program Officer), Tapash Nandy (Community Organizer) and Omar Farque (Community Organizer) of YPSA were present at the training. After training session different horticulture plants were distributed among the participants.

Wahadpur UP Chairman distributed seedlings among the participantsDifferent issues on plantation & management system of horticultural plants e.g. Identity of fruit species, different vegetative propagation technique, characteristics of good seedlings, importance of vegetative seedlings, planting, fertilizer application and watering   system of mango, jujube, guava, disease and insect control management, pruning, thinning, caretaking and economical analysis for establish fruit orchard etc. were discussed during the training session.
