International Organization for Migration (IOM) has organized a counseling session and Cheque distribution ceremony for the returnee victims of human smuggling and trafficking who were rescued recently from the different sea of South East Asian countries. The program was organized in two steps from 7-8 October and 17-18 October, 2015 at YPSA Training Centre, Cox’sbazar . Total 300 survivors who were brought back to Bangladesh by the support of IOM have participated in counseling session and cheque distribution ceremony.
Each returnee has received 15000/- to recover their financial loss and improve their livelihood condition. From the IOM Ms. Asma Khatun and her team have distributed the Cheque and Prof. Kamal U A Chowdhury, Dhaka University and his team has conducted the counseling session for the victims. Mr. Mahabubur Rahman, Director (Social Development Program), YPSA and Mr. Sirajuddin Belal, Program Manager, YPSA were present during the closing session in the program.
