Three graduates of the YPSA PRISE project (Partnership Reinforcement for Integrated Skills Enhancement) have successfully launched their own businesses, beauty parlors. The businesses, which are entirely managed by the former trainees, were recently visited by UNICEF Bangladesh Chattogram’s Education Officer, S.K. Rokibul Hasan, along with Brac Skill Development Program Manager, Md. Saiful Islam, and other Brac officials on January 22, 2025.
The ceremony was attended by Arifur Rahman, the Founder and Chief Executive of YPSA, Palash Kumar Chowdhury, the Director of Finance at YPSA, and Apurba Deb, the Focal Person of the YPSA PRISE project. Tanuj Haldar, the District Manager of the Brac PRISE project, and other senior YPSA officials were also present.
Over two phases, the YPSA PRISE project has trained 400 trainees in various trades for six months across four YPSA branches: Patenga, Halishahar, Bakalia, and Shantir Hat. Both Brac and UNICEF have provided financial and technical support to the project.
YPSA has awarded certificates to all 400 trainees and 200 MCPs who participated in the project. The successful launch of these businesses by the former trainees is a testament to the effectiveness of the YPSA PRISE project in empowering individuals and fostering economic growth.
