YPSA Organizes Theatre for Development (TfD) Shows to Raise Awareness on GBV and Child Marriage in Rohingya Camp

YPSA successfully staged two impactful Theatre for Development (TfD) shows at Rohingya Camp 13 and Camp 15, Ukhiya Upazila, Cox’s Bazar, on November 17, 2025.

The shows were organized under the “Life Skills Education and Empowerment Programme for Adolescent Boys, Girls and Young Men and Women Including Their Caregivers in Rohingya Camps and Host Communities in Cox’s Bazar (LSE) Project,” supported by Plan International Bangladesh and funded by UNFPA. The performances, technically supported by the theatre team of the Youth Alliance for Sustainable International Development (YASID), powerfully highlighted the social causes and serious consequences of child marriage.

This initiative aimed to engage youth and community members in meaningful dialogue on child marriage prevention and gender-based violence through interactive and culturally relevant theatre performances. The performances highlighted the social causes and serious consequences of child marriage, encouraging community members to rethink harmful practices and adopt positive behaviors. By using theatre as a communication tool, the program helped foster community-level conversations in an engaging and accessible way.

The events were graced by the respected Camp in Charges (CiCs):
