Project Manager

YPSA is implementing a project on “Child-centered anticipatory Action for better preparedness of communities and local institution in Northern & Coastal area in Bangladesh” in Chattogram district (Chattogram City Corporation & Banshkhali Upazila) in partnership with Save the Children.  YPSA is inviting application from the experienced professionals with proven track record for the following position for the Project.

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the project through maintaining project cycle management for achieving project goal and objectives
  • Develop project plan & budget, program & training guideline and project reports
  • Conduct the Child-centered community-based risk and vulnerability assessments and integrate into the local governmental disaster management committees (DMCs) for maximum efficacy.
  • Work for improving Early Response initiatives through disseminating Early warning messages to the vulnerable and affected populations
  • Capacity building of vulnerable communities, volunteers, district-level resource pool, DMCs, children and youth forums and interpretation groups, meteorologists/hydrologists on Anticipatory Action.
  • Ensure all deliverables of the project through periodic reviews and disseminate findings among relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain linkage with related GO, City Corporation, Disaster Management Committees, NGOs, civil society and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate different training, meeting, workshop and orientations with different stakeholders
  • Provide direction and support to project team to ensure the standards of project activities
  • Ensure that the project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor and the organization
  • Supervise, monitor and evaluate the project, work and performance of staff and take concrete steps to improve job performance.
  • Maintain gender-sensitive approach in all stages and maintain safeguarding measures
  • Any other task assigned by the Management

Qualifications and experience:

  •  Master’s Degree in any subject; preferably in Development Studies / Disaster Management / Environmental Science/Geography and Environment from a recognized University
  • At least 5 year experiences in the development field along with 4 year experiences in project management.
  • Knowledge and experience to work in Anticipatory Action, DRR, and emergency response
  • Demonstrate very strong leadership and management skills and ability to work in the team.
  • Sound knowledge of project cycle management
  • Excellent planning, analytical, organizational and decision making skills
  • Good working relationships with colleagues, partners, external actors and allies
  • Excellent communication skills including a high level of written and spoken English
  • Conversant in common IT applications (MS word, MS power point, internet browsing & e-mail communications)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines

Monthly consolidated Salary: 75,000/-
