District Information Office, Cox’s Bazar organized Rally and discussion meeting on “World population day 2010” with the support of YPSA. Mr. Md. Giash Uddin Ahmed, D.C. of Cox’s Bazar, Mr. Md. Humayan Kabir Khondaker, ADC (Education), Dr. Kazal Kanti Barua, Civil surgeon, Mr. Giash Uddin Zilla Information Officer participated in the rally and discussion meeting.
Sitakund Upazilla Health & Family Planning Department organized Rally and discussion meeting at Sitakund to mark the “World Population Day 2010” on 11 July with the support of YPSA, Samanninata Unnayan Sangstha (SUS) and Meri Stops Clinic. This year’s World Population Day theme is “Everyone counts”. It seeks to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues, particularly in the context of poverty reduction and development strategies and plans. Abdullah Al Baker Bhuyan, Upazilla Chairman, Sitakund presided the discussion meeting. Dr. Abu Taher, Upazilla Health & Family Planning Officer, Dr. Eklas Uddin, Physician & Political leader, Dr. Abdul Momen, Upazilla Health & Family Planning Officer were present as special guest in the meeting.
