Kobi Gan staged to mark the International Volunteer Day

YPSA-We Can project staged Kobi Gan, a Bengali traditional musical program, to mark the International Volunteer Day 2010 on December 5 at Banshkhali Upazila. Theme of this year was “Volunteering for the MDGs”. The Kobi Gan is a type of sung poetry, poems sung with simple music usually presented on stage as a musical battle between poets and it approaches a precise theme.  The singer (Kabial) approached massages on Eve Teasing and violence against women to the audience aiming to create mass awareness among the people.

Banshkhali UNO S. M. Nazim Uddin inaugurated the program. Chairman of Banshkhali Upazila Alamgir Kabir Chowdhury, Women Affairs Officer of Banskhali Shakera Sharif, Vice Chairman of Banshakhali Moulovi Nur Hossain, YPSA staffs Sanjida Akter and Kollayn Barua were present there.
