Conference on Tobacco Control in Bangladesh held

A “Conference on Tobacco Control in Bangladesh” held on 12th August 2014 at Hall A and Hall B, National Heart Foundation Hospital and Research Institute, Mirpur, Dhaka. The Conference was organized by National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh in collaboration with United Forum Against Tobacco (UFAT) with the support from Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids (CTFK). Nasim Banu, Team Leader, Smoke Free Project of YPSA participated in the conference as a speaker and presented a power point presentation on “Involvement of Local Government in Smoke Free initiatives: Chittagong Experiences”.

About 300 physicians, representatives from BI, TFK, WHO, BI grantees and Tobacco control activists participated in the conference. Different sessions of the conference addressed major challenges and strategies of Tobacco control. Eminent expert from different arena presented up to date information, exchanged views and new ideas on tobacco control initiatives.
