Community radio talk show on “Stop Violence and Build a Peaceful Bangladesh”

Radio talk show at Sagor Giri FM 99.2

Aiming for “Stop Violence and Build a Peaceful Bangladesh”, Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) arranged a radio talk show at 04 November, 2014 on Radio SagorGiri, Sitakunda, Chittagong, under the campaign on BD with me (www.facebook.com/BDwithMe).

This talk show was facilitated by Shah Sultan Shamim, Station Manager, Radio SagorGiri FM 99.2. The guest speakers were Abdus Sabur, representative of this campaign from YPSA, Bebek Kanti Das, representative of civil society, Nazim Chowdhury, reprenstative of local Youth and Farhana Taslim representative of women also a social worker.

This talk show was started by the addressing speech of Shah Sultan Shamim, Station Manager, Radio SagorGiri FM 99.2. He welcomed the invited participates of this talk show and made introducing of participants with radio listener. Facilitator made a short description of this campaign. In whole program facilitator made short question to invited speakers with relative question of this campaign. Facilitator asked how to retain peace and prosperity in community.

In question, answer and discussion period Abdus Sabur, representative of this campaign from YPSA shared that the goals and objectives of this campaign, also shared the nature and causes of violence.

In question, answer and discussion period Bebek Kanti Das, representative of civil society shared that roles of youth to prevent violence in community and the importance of youth in reducing violence from all level of the society.

In question, answer and discussion period Farhana Taslim representative of women also a social worker shared the nature of violence on women and children at community. She also shared how to overcome and reduce violence against women and children at community.

Beside the representative of local youth Nazim Chowdhury shared about the family and community level violence and its consequences.

Finally, facilitator accumulated all findings and recommendations from guest speakers and shared that Bangladesh is a non communal and democratic country. People love to live together with peace and cooperation from each other, but sometime violence disturbance our national harmony. We need to take necessary steps to figure out the causes of violence and take remedy measure to prevent violence jointly.

Firstly, facilitator made a question to Abdus Sabur, Coordinator of this Campaign from YPSA, Sitakunda site on goals and objectives of this campaign. Also wants to know the nature and causes of violence.

In against of this question Abdus Sabur said that “Stop Violence and Build a Peaceful Bangladesh is a public awareness campaign, which main objectives are to increase tolerance level, make unity and find out alternate solution of violence. Bangladesh is a non communal and democratic country”.

After roundtable discussion a signature campaigns have been starting, it will continue at 08 November, 2014. This signature campaign was inaugurated by Md. Shah Alam, Upazilla Youth Development Officer, Sitakunda, Chittagong.
