Graphic health warning along with pictures on the packet of tobacco products would be added from March 19, 2016, according to the sections of Smoking and Tobacco Products Usage (Control) (Amendment) Act, 2013. The tobacco factories and companies will have to insert pictorial warning signs on their tobacco products to make people aware of adverse impacts of tobacco on human health. YPSA formed a human chain demanding the issue in front of Chittagong Press Club on March 6, 2016.
Dr. Mahfuzur Bhuiyan, Grant Manager, CTFK; Giush Uddin and Anjumara Begum, Councilor of Chittagong City Corporation; Alamgir Shabuj from Desh TV; Shahriar from ATN Bangla; Latifa Ansari Ruma from Masranga TV, M. Nasirul Hoq from Suprobhat Bangladesh were present in the program.
People from all walks of life including members of Anti Tobacco Media Alliance (ATMA), representatives from NGOs, civil society, print and electronic media, health workers and students attended the human chain.
