First Secretary of Australian High Commission, Bangladesh visited YPSA CEVEC consortium R2 field activities in Cox’s Bazar
Dr. Sacha Blumen, Honorable First Secretary (Political), Australian High Commission, Bangladesh visited YPSA CEVEC project activities on March 03, 2021, at Cox’s Bazar. During his visit, he has observed the last day of the Two days long Life Skills Education sessions of Youth Club (Female) named ‘Khurushkul Sukher Thikana Mohila Unnayan Somobai Somity Limited’, Khurushkul & had met in a meeting with YPSA CEVEC Consortium at YPSA Cox’s Bazar office.
YPSA CEVEC Consortium is implementing project named ‘Community Engagement in Countering Violent Extremism in Chottogram Division’ and this project funded by GCERF. Since 2016, YPSA CEVEC Consortium R 1 has been implementing this project in Cox’s Bazar & R2 has been started from November 2019 in Chottogram Division & Cox’s Bazar District.
During visit, Dr. Sacha Blumen discussed different PVE related issues with the participants of the LSE session. Participants shared their opinions and expressed their involvement in this regard. Dr. Sacha Blumen has given his heartfelt thanks to all participants and beneficiaries for their views, commitment and boldness for their desire and oath to work on PVE issues among family and community by overcoming all obstacles in society.
20 participants from Club member has participated in this session. During this time Mohammad Shahjahan – Focal Point of YPSA CEVEC Consortium & Deputy Director of YPSA, Ms. Khaleda Begum -Team Leader of YPSA CEVEC Consortium & Deputy Director of YPSA, Mr. Nazmul Barat Rony – Program Coordinator (Training & Campaign), Mr. Bana Ratna Tanchangya – M& E Officer, Mohammed Harun – Program Manager, Mr. Abidur Rahman – Upazilla Manager, Jitu Barua – Field facilitator & Shaila Mustafa – Field Facilitators were present among others.
At first, Ms. Rubi Rudra – President of Khurushkul Sukher Thikana Mohila Unnayon Somobai Somity Limited welcomed Dr. Sacha Blumen from her Club & Ms. Chinu Dey has conducted the LSE session. Due to considering the Covid 19 situation this session has been conducted in South Khuruskul Model High School.
After completing field visit at Khurushkul, Dr. Sacha Blumen visited YPSA Cox’s Bazar office and took part in the meeting with YPSA CEVEC Consortium. YPSA CEVEC consortium has presented a multimedia presentation on implementing Project named ‘Community Engagement in Countering Violent Extremism in Chottogram Division’ In this meeting there were present Mohammad Shahjahan – Focal Point, Ms. Khaleda Begum -Team Leader, Ms. Roksana Begum – Manager Finance & Admin, Mr. Nazmul Barat Rony – Program Coordinator (Training & Campaign), Mr. Bana Ratna Tanchangya – M& E Officer, Mohammed Harun – Program Manager from YPSA CEVEC Consortium.
Dr. Sacha Blumen, Honorable First Secretary (Political), Australian High Commission, Bangladesh said, ‘Through the field visit and interaction with beneficiaries I am impressed with the ongoing work of the YPSA CEVEC consortium on PVE issues. I am conveying thanks to all member of YPSA CEVEC consortium and management of YPSA for their tremendous effort on prevention violence extremism’. Moreover, he said, ‘I’ll share my pleasant experience & future working possibilities on PVE issue with my authority’.
