Training Certificate handovered among Urban Community Volunteers on International Day for Disaster Reduction

On 13th October, YPSA has observed International Day for Disaster Reduction, 2021 under Proyash II project with the support of Save the Children. YPSA observed the day with DC office event in the morning. Urban Community Volunteer (UCV) under Proyash II was invited by DC Office for the day observance and they attended the mock drill organized by DC office.

In the afternoon YPSA organized a certificate giving ceremony in South Bakoliya Ward 19 Councilor Office for UCVs for completing the training course on Search, Rescue, First Aid and Fire Fighting by Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD).

Certificates hand over

YPSA believes today’s youth is strength for today and asset for the future. Urban Community Volunteer of Ward 19 has been proactively working as first responder during any disaster and advocating with local government for community risks and hazards. Therefore, YPSA congratulates Urban Community Volunteer of Ward 19 through certificate giving ceremony. At the beginning of the event Project Officer, Ataul Hakim presented the activities and achievement of UCVs through power point presentation. After that the UCVs have received the certificates from the Ward Councilor.

In the ceremony Ward 19 Councilor, Nurul Alam Miah gave speech as chief guest. He said he is so proud to know the contribution UCVs have given despite the risks of their life during the pandemic. He will be always besides them for any kinds of assistance in future. Ward 17, 18, 19 Councilor Shahina Akter Rosy, Proyash II Project Coordinator Sanzida Akter and other project staffs has attended the meeting with UCVs. Ms Sanzida Akter said we have chosen the UCVs despite individuals’ political interest and based on the recommendation from Ex Ward Councilor. She addressed the Ward 19 new Councilor Nurul Alam Mia and requested to lead UCVs as a strong leader through coordination and cooperation.
