YPSA, Community Radio Academy and BNNRC jointly organized a view exchanging meeting on “Role of Community Radio in development of Sitakund” at Sitakund Upazilla Parishad Auditorium on 3 July. Md Abul Kashem, Member of Parliament was present as chief guest and Abdullah Al Baker Bhuyan, Upazilla Chairman was present as special guest in the meeting. Md. Arifur Rahman, CE of YPSA and Md. Bazlur Rahman, CEO of BNNRC presented notes regarding the issue in the session.
Ministry of Information, Government of Bangladesh recently approved 14 Community Radio Initiators for installation and operation of community radio in Bangladesh. YPSA has been selected as the initiator of Community Radio installation. The main objective of community radio is to provide livelihood related information to the rural communities in an understandable way. Agriculture, education, health, disaster, women and child issues, market price, services, etc. will be cover in the community radio for the community people.
