A mobile court was conducted in different places in Chittagong city and fined 15 people for smoking at public places and public transport as well as 370 packets cigarette were seized from different shops and destroyed which were not either BSTI approved or lacking harmful massage of tobacco use. On the World No Tobacco Day 2014, the executive magistrate of Deputy Commissioner (DC) office of Chittagong and Civil Surgeon office conducted this mobile court which was an accomplishment of YPSA’s successful advocacy of tobacco free campaign.
Mr. Zhutan Chandra, executive magistrate of Deputy Commissioner (DC) office of Chittagong, Dr. Md. Nurul Haider, Civil Surgeon office, Chittagong and YPSA’s smoke free project team members Mr. Omar Shahed and Mr. Didarul Alam were present during the operation.
The operation took place at GEC Circle, New Market and Rail Station.
