A mobile court on 06 June 2016 fined 1300 Taka to five shopkeepers for selling cigarettes without pictorial health warning and keeping huge promotional materials which violates the amended Tobacco Control Act. The mobile court seized the display board of tobacco advertisement. The mobile court visited 05 shopkeepers at kawtali of Brahmanbaria. Kamrun Nahar Ruma, Executive Magistrate, DC office Brahmanbaria conducted the mobile court. Md. Nazbahul Islam, senior health officer, civil surgeon, Brahmanbaria, police and YPSA representative also participated in the mobile court.
Court also warned other shops for not to sell tobacco products without pictorial health warning and display no smoking signage.
