YPSA with other likeminded organizations formed a Human Chain protesting against the initiative of building hospital at a heritage zone CRB in Chattogram which would have an adverse impact on the environment due to felling a number of century-old trees. YPSA’s Advocacy Unit focal person Muhammed Ali Shahin said, we are not against building a hospital, but we are opposing the decision to build it at the CRB area. Not only hospital but also any other commercial structure should not build at that location which is considered as heritage zone.
The event took place on 15th July, 2021 at CRB, Chattogram. Nasim Banu, Deputy Director (Program), YPSA ; Roksana Begum, Deputy Director (Finance), YPSA; Sanzida Akter, Coordinator, YPSA-PROYAS project were also present among others.
The Urban Community Volunteers under the PROYAS-II project carried out tree planting as symbolic tree protection programs in the CRB area.
