Special Radio Program on International Youth Day-2021

Talk show at Radio Sagorgiri

Youth Talk Program at community radio in Sitakund “Radio Sagor Giri FM 99.2” and live Talk Show “Talks On: Our Community, Our Responsibility” at community radio in Sandwip Island “Radio Dwip” were arranged by YPSA to mark the International Youth Day 2021.

In Radio Sagor Giri program, Md Shafiqur Rahman, social activist and teacher at Tarial High School, Mohammad Sawar Jahan Prince, Youth leader and social activist, Saikat Barua, Assistant Teacher, Barotkundu High School attended the program. The radio program was moderated by Shahed, Presenter, Radio Sagor Giri and Sanjay Chowdhury, Media Producer, Radio Sagor Giri.

Participants shared that youth can make a positive role in the society through their innovation, creativity and outstanding activities as well as youth are playing a vital role to help marginalized and excluded community to help and raise awareness during this COVID-19 pandemic situation.

In Radio Dwip program, Rahim Mohammod, President, Press Club, Sandwip and Mubarak Hossain Rimon, Founder, Safe Zone attended the program and the radio Dwip live program was moderated by Md. Bokhtear Hossain, Program Officer and In-charge, Radio Dwip, YPSA.

Rahim Mohammod, President, Press Club, Sandwip  shared that, climate change issue creates a huge impact in food production, agriculture and change in sea level, lifestyle of people in a negative way and most importantly water level is reducing in Sandwip, enhances salinity and reduces palm trees. We can utilize our Young people to come up pragmatic and effective solution to deal with these problems.

Mubarak Hossain Rimon (Founder, Safe zone) said that, during pandemic situation, their youth organization have worked planting 1000 trees in sandwip and implemented social action project Agriculture in yard to reduce climate change issues and enhance sustainable food production in local level. It has a significant impact in community level for transforming food system as well as take initiative to aware about climate change issues.
