YPSA observed the International Migrants Day 2021

YPSA observed the International Migrants Day 2021 in Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar with the joint collaboration of District Administration. On the occasion of the day, YPSA has taken various programmes as colorful rally, discussion, felicitation of migrant’s workers and their family members with the joint collaboration of District Employment Manpower Office (DEMO).

The rally starts from the ground of Circuit House and turning around the various important roads of the city. Finally the rally closed at Circuit House. This rally was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram. A discussion meeting was held at Conference room of Circuit house in the end of the rally. Mr. Jahirul Alam Majumder, Deputy Director, DEMO Chattogram was preside the meeting. Mr. A.S.M. Zamshed Khondaker, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram was present as a chief guest of this discussion.

The discussion is “Migration to Build a Prosperous Bangladesh”. Aspirant Migrants, Migrants workers, Migrants Family Members, Recruiting Agency, Technical Training Centers, Bank, Probashi Kallyan Bank, Migration NGOs and Media People were participated the discussion. Mr. Abdus Sabur, Program Manager, YPSA said that Migrants are playing a vital role in local and global development. Migrants are playing a huge role in lifting a developing country like Bangladesh above the poverty line. In 2020, Bangladeshi migrants sent 1940.81 million US$ and now our foreign reserves is 4500 core US$. So, the role of migrants in building developed Bangladesh is undeniable. Moreover, Returnees Skills, Experiences and Technology Expertise Contribute to Building a Better Bangladesh. Therefore, Migrants worker and their family rights and interests should be given priority. YPSA is working in coordination with everyone on promoting safe orderly regular migration.

Moreover, YPSA has jointly arranged a healthy rally and discussion on marking the International Migrants Day 2021 with the Cox’s Bazar Administration. These rally and discussions was chaired by Assistant Director, DEMO Cox’s Bazar. Mr. Zahid Iqbal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Cox’s Bazar was present as a chief guest of this discussion. The youth volunteers and migrant workers were attended these events with followed the health hygiene. At discussion participants were emphasized on skill before going abroad and disseminating of government information through youth at root. This process also contributes on the theme of International Migrants Day 2021. The theme of this year is “শতবর্ষে জাতির পিতা, সুবর্ণে স্বাধীনতা, অভিবাসনে আনবো মর্যাদা ও নৈতিকতা “
