The annual “Project Area Visit and Monitoring Meeting” of the YPSA-Free Kids Project has been successfully completed.
Mr. Muhammad Amanaullah Aman, Country Director of Solidar Suisse, Bangladesh, visited the project activities in Sitakund and Chattogram on July 14 and in Cox’s Bazar on July 15. During this time, he exchanged views with the project beneficiaries, parents, local youth and community representatives.
On July 15, YPSA-Solidar representatives held a meeting at the office of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) in Cox’s Bazar. Labor Inspector Fazlur Rahman, Ahmed Ullah and Rahela Akhtar were present from the DIFE. The meeting discussed the role and activities of all in the elimination of child labor.
On July 16, the monitoring meeting was held at a conference hall of a local hotel in Cox’s Bazar sadar. The meeting was attended by Aman Ullah Aman, YPSA’s Advocacy Focal and Coordinator of Free Kids Project Muhammad Ali Shahin, YPSA’s Assistant Director and Head of YPSA’s Rohingya Response Program Muhammad Shahidul Islam, Solidar Suisse’s Technical Officer Lucky Akter, YPSA’s Finance Manager Enayet Mawla, YPSA’s Program Officer Tofaelur Rahman, Program Officer Ali Adnan, Solidar Suisse’s Monitoring Officer Arshadullah Haque Masum.
At the beginning of the monitoring meeting, the keynote address was delivered by Aman Ullah Aman.
Project Coordinator Muhammad Ali Shahin highlighted all the activities of the previous day through a power point presentation. The challenges and possibilities of project implementation were also discussed at this time. Describing various experiences, he said that child labor can be eliminated if the Solidar Suisse and YPSA work together.
Solidar Suisse’s Technical Officer Lucky Akter thanked the YPSA Free Kids officials in his speech.
In his concluding speech, Aman Ullah Aman, praised the various activities of the project. He praised the project officials, the beneficiaries and the stakeholders.
In the second part of the meeting, the project’s future work plan was finalized.
