Product Showcasing Fair at Rohingya Camps in Bangladesh : Skill Development for Youth

On 11 September 2024, YPSA organized a day-long Product Showcasing Fair at Rohingya camp-10 under the project “Ensuring access to safe, equitable, inclusive learning opportunities for adolescents and youth in camps and host communities creating a pathway towards sustainable solutions to self-reliance”, supported by Save the Children.

Speech by chief guest

The honorable Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner, Cox’s Bazar, was the chief guest where Camp in Charge of Camp 10 presided over the program. Save the Children representatives Mr. Md. Mahabub Hasan, Sr. Manager, BPRM Lead, Ms. Sabiha Naznin, Technical Specialist, Shahika Arobe, MEAL Officer were present.

The project aims to reduce conflict & violence in the Rohingya Community by conducting Skill development training.

Fair

From the YPSA Mr. Mohammed Shahidull Islam, Deputy Director and Head of the Rohingya Response Program, Mr. Jishu Barua, Assistant Director, Ms. Roksana Begum, Assistant Director, Mohammed Harun, Focal Person of YPSA BPRM Project and all project staff and project participants were present in the fair.

Mr. Md. Ibrahom Shaki, Manager FSL conducted the inauguration session. The RRRC urged the Rohingya people to avoid conflict and violence. He encouraged the Rohingya children, adolescents and youths to be involved in studying and skill development activities to be self-dependent and to be useful after repatriation to their home country.

After the inauguration session, the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner visited the YPSA stalls and appreciated their production of YPSA BPRM project participants.In addition to the fair at Camp 10, YPSA organized three more Product Showcasing Fairs at Camps 7, 15, and 21. The respective Camp In-Charges were present at these events and participated in the inauguration programs. Participants from various backgrounds enjoyed the fairs and appreciated the diverse products on display. The success of these events was made possible by the dedicated efforts of YPSA staff, senior management, and the valuable support of Save the Children colleagues.
