3rd year Contract Signing event for implementing AVCB III Project

The 3rd Year Contract Signing Ceremony of the Responsible Party Agreement (RPA) between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) for the implementation of the “Activating Village Courts in Bangladesh Phase III (AVCB III)” Project was held on 1st July 2025 at the UNDP AVCB Office, Dhaka.

On behalf of YPSA, Dr. Mohammed Arifur Rahman, Founder Chief Executive, signed the agreement. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Anowarul Haque, Assistant Resident Representative, Mr. Tanvir Rahman, Senior Governance Specialist, and Mr. Bibhash Chakraborty, National Project Coordinator of the AVCB III Project, along with other team members from UNDP.

From YPSA, Ms. Nasim Banu, Director (Social Development) and Focal Person of the AVCB III Project, and Ms. Farhana Idris, Assistant Director and Project Coordinator of AVCB III, were also present at the ceremony.

Under this agreement, YPSA is implementing the AVCB III Project across 15 districts, 141 Upazilas, and 1392 Unions spanning 8 districts of Chattogram Division, 4 districts of Sylhet Division, and 3 districts of Dhaka Division. The project is being implemented with the support of the Local Government Division (LGD) under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (MoLGRD&C), European Union (EU), and UNDP Bangladesh.

The project aims to strengthen access to justice for rural communities in Bangladesh, with a particular focus on women, ethnic minorities, and marginalized groups. Following the signing ceremony, UNDP also facilitated a review meeting to reflect on the achievements of the second year and to share the implementation plan for the third year of the project.
