Foreign Affairs Secretary Witnesses YPSA’s Education Program at Rohingya Camp

Visitors inside the learning center with the children

The Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Asad Alam Siam, visited the Rhythm Learning Center in Rohingya Camp 18 on July 31, 2025, to observe the education programs for Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals.

The visit, which showcased a structured learning session, was a chance for the Secretary to see the vital work being done by the YPSA, with support from Save the Children. Upon arrival, Mr. Siam was warmly welcomed by Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) Mr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and Camp-in-Charge Mr. Minhazul Islam.

Reception

Mr. Siam was given a detailed briefing on the center’s education initiatives by Mr. SK. Obaidul Hoque (Shamim), YPSA’s Education in Emergency (EiE) Project Coordinator. The presentation covered the overall education system for Rohingya children in the camp, its current status, and the progress and challenges of using the Myanmar curriculum.

Following the briefing, the Secretary toured the classrooms. He observed the learning activities and interacted directly with the children, asking them about their studies and well-being. He showed particular interest in the integration of the Burmese language and the ways the education was being tailored to be culturally relevant to the students.

The visit concluded with a special performance as the children recited a poem for the guests. Their recital was a powerful and respectful demonstration of their learning progress and a highlight of the visit for everyone in attendance.
