As part of the global campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence,” YPSA organized the “Durbar Nari Award Ceremony”, on January 8, 2026, at the Teknaf Project Office premises.
The event was held under the ‘YPSA-Agents of Change’ project, funded by BMZ and implemented with technical support from Plan International Bangladesh. The project aims to foster sustainable empowerment by preventing violence against women, promoting gender equality, ensuring social justice, and achieving economic self-reliance.
The ceremony celebrated the achievements of women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in the fight against gender-based violence and the pursuit of economic independence.
Dr. Md. Arifur Rahman, Founder and Chief Executive of YPSA, attended as the Chief Guest, emphasizing that social justice is only possible through the active participation and empowerment of women.
Other guests included Mohammad Shahidul Islam (Deputy Director, YPSA), Jishu Barua (Assistant Director, YPSA), and Hossain Rahman Raiyan (Project Manager, Plan International Bangladesh).
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of crests and awards to beneficiaries. These honors recognize the courage and skills of women whose efforts have significantly impacted their communities, marking a formal acknowledgment of their leadership and contribution to social change.
