A total of 104 community volunteers have successfully completed a three-day “Community Volunteer Training on Fire Fighting, Search, Rescue, First Aid, Earthquake and Landslide Management” under the project titled Child-Centered Anticipatory Action for Better Preparedness of Communities and Local Institutions in Northern and Coastal Areas of Bangladesh.

The project is being implemented by Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office and technical assistance from Save the Children. The training sessions were conducted by professional trainers from Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence.

During the training, volunteers actively participated in hands-on practical sessions. They practiced fire extinguishing techniques using firefighting equipment, conducted mock search and rescue operations, applied first aid procedures to injured persons, and took part in earthquake and landslide response drills. These practical exercises strengthened their skills and built confidence to respond effectively during emergencies.
