Night Guard (Male)

YPSA has been implementing the “ECW-MYRP-II ” project in the Rohingya and Host Communities in Cox’s Bazar. This is a Consortium Project and Save the Children is the Grantee and Consortium Lead of the project. YPSA is going to expand its education activities at different Camps at Teknaf & Ukhiya Upazila in Cox’s Bazar. YPSA is committed to accessing more Adolescent Girls through implementing a Community-Based Learning Facility (CBLF) as well as a Learning Centre (LC) and Teach to Transform Activities under the ECW Top-Up Fund in Cox’s Bazar.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Night security guards are responsible for ensuring the safety of Office & warehouse assets and property at night. They commonly patrol their assigned area, checking for any signs of suspicious activity or criminal behavior. They may also be tasked with monitoring security systems such as surveillance cameras or alarm systems. Night security guards must be always alert and observant while on duty. Their job is to protect people and property from theft, vandalism, assault, etc., so they need to be able to notice anything out of the ordinary as soon as it happens.

Night security guards have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

  • Coordinating security measures with other security guards on duty at the time, such as switching watch duties with another guard every few hours to ensure that everyone gets adequate rest
  • Monitoring security cameras and recording systems for any abnormalities or suspicious activity
  • Providing security services at construction sites during non-business hours
  • Monitoring intruder alarm systems for signs of intrusion by unauthorized persons
  • Patrolling the grounds at night to check for signs of suspicious activity such as broken windows or doors, graffiti, or litter
  • Responding to emergencies such as fires, medical emergencies, or violent behavior
  • Observing employees to ensure they are following security protocols such as locking doors at closing time or reporting suspicious activity to security personnel
  • Performing routine security checks on key areas such as entrances and exits to the facility to ensure they are secure
  • Reporting incidents of theft, vandalism, or other unusual activity to the supervisor

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Stay in the office from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. and perform office security duties for 7 days a week/ 365 days.
  • If you need to take an emergency leave, someone who is faithful to you and your family can commit to your responsibilities.  But in that case, the permission of the coordinator should be taken.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with all the project team members, promoting a strong & respectful team spirit, ensuring effective communication, and opportunities for debriefing
  • Consistently and dedicatedly monitor/assess the safety and security of the team, promptly reporting concerns or incidents to YPSA management and liaising with other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure quality implementation and contribution to YPSA as a whole

Experience:

Educational Qualification                  : At least Class 10 but flexible for experienced candidates (Age range 18-40)

Monthly Consolidated Salary            : BDT 13,000/-

Project Location                                 :  Ukhiya Project Office in Cox’s Bazar
