Trainer (Socio-emotional Behavior and Enterprise Development), EARN Project

YPSA invites applications from qualified, competent, and enthusiastic Bangladeshi nationals for the following position under the Empowering and Accelerating Resilience for NEETs Growth (EARN) Project, implemented by the Department of Youth Development under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, funded by Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and in partnership with Save the Children.

Job Location: Banshkhali Upazila/Sitakunda Upazila/Mirsharai Upazila of Chittagong district/Moheshkhali upazila/Ramu Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.

Duration: Need based

Supervisor: Upazila Manager

Purpose: The Trainer – Socio-emotional Behavior and Enterprise Development will play a key role in promoting youth entrepreneurship by building essential soft skills, socio-emotional competencies, and entrepreneurial mindsets among young people. The position will also contribute to creating an enabling social environment that supports greater female labor force participation by addressing social norms, enhancing confidence and agency, and fostering inclusive, gender-sensitive approaches to enterprise development and skills training.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitation of Training on Socio-emotional Skills

  • Design and deliver interactive training sessions focused on socio-emotional learning (SEL) topics
  • Use participatory and gender-sensitive training methodologies to ensure inclusivity and relevance for both male and female youth participants, especially NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) women.

Enterprise Development Training

  • Conduct training on basic entrepreneurship concepts, including idea generation, business planning, financial literacy, marketing, risk assessment, and customer service.
  • Support participants in developing business plans or career pathways tailored to their skills, interests, and local market opportunities.

Curriculum Adaptation and Development

  • Adapt and contextualize training modules and materials to reflect the local socio-cultural context and project goals.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists to continuously refine and improve training content based on participant feedback and learning outcomes.

Individual and Group Coaching and mentoring

  • Provide one-on-one and group mentoring/coaching to reinforce learning, support personal development, and guide youth in applying socio-emotional and enterprise skills in real-life situations.
  • Help build the confidence and motivation of participants to pursue self-employment or wage employment.

Monitoring and Assessment

  • Track participants’ attendance, engagement, and progress through pre- and post-assessments, session evaluations, and observation.
  • Maintain detailed records and contribute to regular progress reports and learn documentation.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with Community Mobilizers, Center In-Charges, and other field staff to ensure smooth participant engagement and integration of training into broader project activities.
  • Engage parents, employers, and community members where relevant to promote understanding and support for behavioral and entrepreneurial development.

Quality, Safeguarding, and Accountability

  • Ensure activities comply with Child safeguarding, PSEA and accountability policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Promote meaningful participation of young women and ensure activities are inclusive and culturally appropriate.
  • Support community feedback mechanisms and follow up on issues raised by participants.

Gender – Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supporting to ensure positive working environment for women and men.
  • Supporting to ensure a workplace free of any types of discrimination and identity-based violence

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum three 3 to 5 years practical working experience in the relevant works.
  • Trainers must be aware of occupational health and safety during training.
  • Have experience on preparing lesson plans, teaching training materials according to curriculum.
  • Able to understand the training appropriate methodology like presentation, demonstration, practical, question-answer, lecture and discussion.

Core Competencies and Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering participatory training on Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL), ensuring interactive, learner-centered, and gender-responsive facilitation.
  • Strong knowledge of youth development principles, particularly engagement of NEET women and vulnerable groups in skills-based programming.
  • Practical experience in entrepreneurship and enterprise development training, including business planning, financial literacy, market analysis, risk assessment, and customer service.
  • Competency in guiding participants to develop viable business plans and career pathways aligned with local market systems and livelihood opportunities.
  • Proven ability to prepare structured lesson plans and deliver curriculum-based training using diverse methodologies (presentation, demonstration, practical exercises, Q&A, lecture, and group discussion).
  • Experience in contextualizing and adapting training materials to local socio-cultural realities while aligning with project objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Monitoring and assessment capacity including attendance tracking and maintaining accurate training documentation.
  • Effective collaboration skills, working closely with Community Mobilizers, Center In-Charges, and technical specialists to ensure integrated program delivery.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, Child Protection, PSEA, and accountability frameworks, ensuring compliance in all training activities.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills in Bangla and English (verbal and written), with the ability to create inclusive, respectful, and culturally appropriate learning spaces.
  • Commitment to gender equality, fostering a safe, discrimination-free workplace and promoting equitable participation of women and men.

Monthly Consolidated Salary: BDT 15,000/-
