YPSA observed International White Cane Safety Day. Federation of DPOs Sitakund organized rally and discussion meeting at Sitakund with the support of YPSA on 15 October 2012.
The White Cane Safety Day is celebrated every year on October 15 to highlight visually impaired people’s achievements and to remind people how white cane can play an important role in helping the visually impaired lives with greater independence.
The white cane can be perceived by many as a symbol of blindness or visual impairment. White canes are recognized for providing the visually impaired with greater mobility, allowing them to participate more within their communities.
Mr. Babul debnath President of Sitakund Federation of DPOs presided the discussion meeting. Newaz Mahmud Program Officer of YPSA and leaders of Sitakund Federation of DPOs were present in the Program.
