GCERF Community of Practice Workshop held

Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) organized a 4-day workshop on “Community of Practice” at Cox’s Bazar from 14 to 17 August, 2017 where YPSA and other Principal and Sub-Recipient organizations participated. The objective of the workshop was to  provide the opportunity to deepen knowledge and share experiences among the partners of GCERF about preventing violent extremism (PVE) program in Bangladesh.  GCERF representative team consist of Mr. Michael Schroll, senior Monitoring and Evaluation officer and Ms. Lilla Schumick Logan , Grants officer GCERF facilitated the whole workshop.

In the workshop, Khaleda Begum, Team Leader of YPSA CEVEC Consortium presented the progress of the consortium. Md. Arifur Rahman, Chief Executive of YPSA and Chairperson of YPSA-CEVEC Consortium delivered his special speech on role of Country Support Mechanism (CSM) for perspective of Countering Violent Extremism issues in Bangladesh. He outlined the different rules and strategies in Bangladesh that related NGO operational activities for social development program. According to the workshop participants, it was finalized that national level workshop with civil society, Govt. agency and academicians should be organized, develop the stakeholder mapping and a network of all NGOs should be established who are working in Bangladesh on Countering Violent Extremism issues.

During the workshop, YPSA CEVEC Consortium team handover the published BCC materials ( Flip chart, poster and leaflet) to representatives of GCERF and other Principals Recipient (PR) organization Manusher Jonno Foundation, Rupantor and Bangladesh Entrepreneurs Institute (BEI). GCERF team highly appreciated the content of BCC materials of YPSA Consortium as a first consortium of GCERF that published the BCC materials among rest of the consortium.

Mohammad Shahjahan, Deputy  Director and Focal Person; Roksana Begum, Admin and Finance Manager; Prabal Barua, M&E Officer, Tawhid Murad, MIS and Documentation Officer of YPSA Consortium were actively participated in the 4 days workshop. Besides, Program Managers of YPSA, SHED, HELP Cox’s Bazar and Jago Nari Unnayan Sangstha of YPSA Consortium members were attend the workshop.
