Advocacy and lobbying workshop on “Smoke free guideline and its implementation” was held in Comilla Municipality. Chief Executive of Comilla Municipality, Deputy Civil Surgeon of Comilla district, Secretary of Bangladesh Medical association, Comilla were present as guests. The smoke free guideline was discussed in the workshop and officially handed over to the Comilla Municipality and Chief Executive of Comilla Municipality has received it on behalf of Mayor. He said that he will take necessary action for adopting the guideline by the Municipality. All the smoke free Coalition member, all councilors, officials of Comilla municipality and other stakeholders were participated in the workshop. YPSA, PIDS and Darpan jointly organized the workshop with the assistance from CTFK.
YPSA and FHDF jointly organized same workshop in Feni Municipality with the assistance of Campaign from Tobacco Free Kids. The main objective of the workshop was to lobby the Feni municipality to take necessary steps to adopt and enforce the smoke free guideline. The smoke free guideline was presented in the workshop. Upazilla Nirbahi Officer of Feni Sadar Upazilla, Medical officer and secretary of Feni Municipality were presented as guest. Besides that all smoke free coalition member, councilors, Government Officials and other stakeholders were participated in the workshop. The smoke free guideline has handed over to Feni municipality and Secretary of municipality has received it on behalf of Mayor. The guests said that they will take necessary initiative to adopt the guideline and will discuss about it in their general meeting.
