Human rights training for the trafficking survivors held at Cox’sbazar

Training workshop at Shanta Niloy Shelter Home organized by YPSA

YPSA organized a Two-day Human Rights Training workshop at Shanta Niloy (Shelter Home), Cox’sbazar during 16-17 April 2013 with the support of Winrock International and USAID. A total of 17 trafficking survivors from different areas of Cox’sbazar & Chittagong district have participated in this training workshop.  Cox’sbazar Civil Society and Cox’sbazar Women & Child Protection Network President Mr. Abu Morshed Choudhury Khoka has participated in a training session as a guest facilitator. Program Manager Md. Sirajuddin Belal & Counselor cum Shelter Manager Mrs. Hosna Ara Rekha of YPSA-ACT Program were the key facilitators of this training.

Topics of this training workshop includes, what type of human rights are violating in Cox’sbazar as well as in Bangladesh, how and where a survivors or a citizen can claim their rights, what are the roles and responsibilities of duty bearers and right holders? What is the main issue of violation of Human rights of Cox’sbazar area?

Training participants concerned about unsafe migration through the sea (Bay of Bengal) & violence against women in Cox’sbazar. All training participants decided to work to stop unsafe migration & violence against women in Cox’sbazar. Members of ANIRBAN (Survivors Voice) will lead these targeted activities.
