“Malaria is a public health problem in Bangladesh particularly people living in the mountainous regions are vulnerable to Malaria. In the early days hundreds of people in the highland areas had to be died from Malaria who lacks awareness and access to health service. As the malaria transmits by the mosquitoes, it may not possible to completely eliminate the disease. It should be controlled raising awareness, taking proper treatment of patients timely and ensuring use of insecticide treated mosquito net. At present, Malaria mortality rate and exposure rate have become tolerable because government and NGOs has been playing vital role. Besides the government, role of NGOs are appreciated for the development of health service in Bangladesh” said UNO of Rangunia Mr. Saiful Islam Mazumder in a mosquito distribution ceremony organized by YPSA.
