YPSA observes World AIDS Day 2015 in Chittagong

YPSA observed World AIDS Day 2015 in Chittagong with the theme “Getting to Zero: Zero new HIV infections. Zero deaths from AIDS-related illness. Zero discrimination”. The day was observed jointly with department of Health and different NGOs in Chittagong. Abdul Aziz Siddique, Civil Surgeon of Chittagong inaugurated the program by hoisting balloons and festoon in the rally in front of Chittagong Press Club. The day started with a colorful rally that drawn a huge participants by the people of all walks of life, different organizations, government official, NGOs, individuals with colorful banners, T-Shirt, festoons, posters etc. The rally started at 9.00 am from In front of Chittagong Press Club and ended at Civil Surgeon Office.

After the ending the rally, a discussion meeting was organized at the Department of Health office where Dr. Alauddin Mazumder, Divisional Director (Health), Chittagong division was present as a chief guest and Md. Azizur Rahman Siddique, Civil Surgeon of Chittagong as special guest. Leading NGO of Chittagong YPSA and others NGOs participated in the discussion meeting and rally.

Individuals, government agencies, NGOs and community groups from across the globe take part in events to mark World Aids Day each year. The activities are also aimed at creating awareness about HIV, on how it is transmitted and how it is not.

The observances also educate about social disgrace against people living with HIV and showing support to those who are infected.
