Dr. Ingrid Boas from Wageningen University, Netherland has visited a Drop in Center (DIC) for the female sex workers which is located at Ibrahimpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She made this visit on October 26, 2016.
YPSA Consortium has setup Drop in Centers (DIC) in different districts under the project “HIV / AIDS Prevention Services for Street Based Sex Workers and their clients” which is Supported by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh and National AIDS STD Programme and funded by World Bank.
Drop in Centers provides health education including STD, HIV, AIDS awareness program, condom promotion, voluntary counseling and testing, creating alternative scope for income generation through skill training, introducing adult non formal literacy program, organizing training for SBSW & their clients & peer outreach workers.
Rozina Akter, Program Coordinator, Md. Abul Mohsin, Monitoring Officer and Najmul Haider, Program manager were present during her visit.
