Orientation on “The Prevention and suppression of Human Trafficking Act, 2012” for law enforcement agencies held at Teknaf

For the law enforcement agencies (LEA),YPSA organized an orientation on ‘ The Prevention and suppression of Human Trafficking Act, 2012’ at Hall Room, Teknaf Upazila, Cox’s Bazar on 14th February, 2019. The core objective of the orientation was to know and apply effectively the HT Act 2012 in countering human trafficking and to ensure rights of the victims of trafficking.

The program is a part of the on-going project titled ‘Initiatives to Prevent Human Trafficking in Emergency Response’, supported by International Organization for Migration (IOM) and implemented by Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) in Cox’s Bazar. A total of 31 personnel from Police, RAB, Army, ANSAR, Coast Guard, NSI and BGB, DGFI attended the orientation program. Mr. Pronoy Chakma, AC Land of Teknaf presided over the meeting.

The orientation was facilitated by Mr. Shariful Hoque, Assistant Judge, District & Session Judge Court, Sylhet, Jishu Barua and Md. Omar Sadque of YPSA.
