YPSA has distributed 180 Blankets, 30 walking sticks among older people of Sandwip Upazila under the project Uplifting the Quality of the Lives of the Elderly People Programme supported by PKSF. Beside this, 10 elderly people have received “The Best Elderly Award” based on who are educating their children and ensuring schooling to make them useful citizens, who are contributing to their community and working for the betterment of quality of lives of older people. The event was held on January 1, 2020 at the Upazilla auditorium, Sandwip.
The Chief Executive of YPSA Md. Arifur Rahman was present as chief guest while president of Mukhapur Union elderly Committee Md. Feroz Ahmed chaired the program.
YPSA Director (Economic development) Md. Manzur Murshed Chowdhury, Deputy Director Md Shahjahan, Program Manager Nawaz Mahmud, Md. Abdus Sabur and Area Manager Md. Didarul Islam were also present as guests.
More than 200 elderly people participated in this program.
