Cox’s Bazar Upazila Legal Aid Committee and YPSA jointly organized a public hearing on legal assistance at government’s cost to people unable to pay legal expenses. Cox’s Bazar District Legal Aid Officer and Senior Assistant Judge Maitri Bhattacharya was present as chief guest at the public hearing. He said in his speech, assistance will be provided to the disadvantaged person in case of difficulty in obtaining legal services. The District Legal Aid Office will pay for legal aid.
The event took place at the District Legal Office on 22 January. Hamida Taher, the female vice-chairman of the Upazila Parishad, spoke about various initiatives of the government. She asked to come to the District Legal Aid Office for legal assistance who are unable to get justice for financial constraint and various socio-economic reasons.
