The National Road Safety Day is observed on 22th October across the country with the aim to ensure safety on roads. In observance of the day, YPSA and Nirapad Sarak Chai (Nischa) jointly organized a road campaign and discussion meeting at Kawkhali Upazila. Leaflets are distributed to make aware the transport owners, drivers, passengers and pedestrians in order to adopt the culture of obeying the traffic rules and reduce the number of road crashes. This year’s theme of the day is: ‘Mujib Borsher Swapath, Sarak Karbo Nirapad”.
Mr. Md. Shamsu Doha Chowdhury, Chairman of Kawkhali Upazila was present as chief guest and Md. Shahidullah, Officer in Charge, Kawkhali Thana; Md. Belal Uddin, Chairman, BRDB & Advisor of Nischa Kawkhali Branch were the guest of honor. The discussion meeting was presided over by Mrs. Shatrupa Talukder, Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
Md. Afsar, President, Nischa (Kawkhali Upazila Branch) Md. Monir Hossain, General Secretary, Nischa, (Kawkhali Upazila Branch), Omar Sharif, Program Manager, YPSA were also present.
